Making a difference in 6 days

Day 1. Saturday: My wife, Anna, donated some N95 masks we had at home to an emergency room at a local NYC hospital. When she asked what else we could do, the response was that frontline medical workers need healthy meals. So we came up with a plan to make twice the impact by buying healthy, fresh meals for our frontline workers who are saving lives from local restaurants and small businesses who are suffering during the pandemic.

Day 2. Sunday: 4am Sunday my business partner Ryall and I, quickly pivot a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit we started and Anna, Ryall and I have meals4heroes.org up and running, Anna posts of her Facebook (before we are ready), and donations start coming in.

Day 3. Monday: We send our first set of nutritious meals to Mount Sinai Morningside and feed an entire 90 person emergency shift while supporting, Junzi Kitchen, a local restaurant.

Day 4. Tuesday: The support of the community is overwhelming and energizing. We now have a team of 9 amazingly talented volunteers committed to helping our frontline workers as they save lives! (We're all volunteers and all the money we receive goes to providing meals from local restaurants and to tips for their workers).

Day 5: Our first day sending out two meals to two different hospitals to a total of 290 medical workers and hospital staff. We're in People magazine online, featured in politicians' newsletters, have meals lined up every day and restaurants reaching out to us asking how they can help.

Day 6: I am posting this on LinkedIn to solicit your help. I know a lot of my connections run companies and we'd love your companies to support us directly. We can even set up a company webpage for your employees to contribute. We'd love an agency to jump on board and provide a pro-bono team who can help with social strategy, PR, branding, etc, a consultancy to help us optimize our operations, or simply share meals4heroes.org with your own communities to spread the word www.meals4heroes.org.
